For the brand design we wanted it to feel totally charming, niche, and slightly alternative. La La Local is a brand and blog dedicated to sharing hidden gems of Los Angeles so I hinted at that in the logo with a subtle wave in the L and sun with the curve. I paired the logo with cute icons to be used in the blog and energetic patterns that can be used in packaging and printed material. Check out the video below for behind the scenes and an interview with Kelly-Jo, founder of La La Local.
La La Local is an emerging brand that aims to share the hidden gems of Los Angeles. The founder, Kelly-Jo, started this brand because of her own history with the city. In order to make LA really start to feel like home she began to explore every neighborhood and corner the city has to offer. She gathered all these sources and hence La La Local was born.
Brand Strategy & Development
One thing that I worked with the founder, Kelly-Jo, on was really getting clear on what makes La La Local different from other travel sites, what value it provides to readers, and who exactly is the La La Local customer. What we came up with is that La La Local is highly curated and doesn't focus on the mainstream LA spots. The blog is ideal for the visitor who wants to experience LA from an off-the-beaten-path point of view or recent transplants who want the "local-in" on things to do and see in LA.
